CATERERS AND POP-UPS

A Farmer Champion is a member of the food service community that strives to strengthen and grow Georgia’s ‘good’ food movement by purchasing at least 5 percent of their food from local and organic producers while simultaneously verifying those purchases with Georgia Organics through invoice submission. Farmer Champions demonstrate a commitment to Georgia producers and serve as an example to the food service community that sourcing locally is possible.

You become an official Farmer Champion Partner if at least 5 percent of your sourcing comes from Georgia, and you submit information verifying your purchases through invoice submission.

Being a Farmer Champion involves bi-quarterly reviews (Q1 and Q4 in 2023) to help you better understand your current local and organic sourcing. Additional tiers of recognition will highlight accelerating percentages of purchasing from local and organic farms at the bronze, silver, and gold tiers, if invoice  submissions are made for three quarters.

During the quarterly reviews, you should collect all food invoices for one month during the requested time period For example, if the requested period is between February and April, you may submit all food invoices from February 15th-March 15th, or April 1-30th. At the end of the month you have chosen during the requested period, upload those invoices to your Google folder (if you don't have one yet, email farmerchampion@georgiaorganics.org to get connected) and we will get your procurement percentages calculated!
